Martin Nievera will sing the Philippine National Anthem in the much anticipated Pacquiao – Hatton match in the United States on May 2, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pacquiao selected Nievera among a short list of great Filipino singers that included rising star Charice Pempengco and international star Lea Salonga.
Nievera will also be the first male artist selected in a Pacquiao fight in the United States after the previous singers were Karylle, Ciara Sotto, Kyla, Lani Misalucha, Bituin Escalante, Geneva Cruz, Sarah Geronimo and Jennifer Bautista.
The fight is three weeks away and I’m sure Pacquiao and Hatton are doing their best in training camp. What is usually said is “May the best fighter win” but you know I can’t say that whole heartedly. What I am willing to say is that “Pacquiao will beat Hatton.”
