In just 359 seconds, Manny Pacquiao crushed Ricky Hatton on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It took just two rounds for him to make people around the world that he is the the top dog in boxing today.

Hatton received jabs, left hooks, right hooks that made him fall on the canvas twice in the first round. In the second round, Pacquiao released his patented left punch to end Hatton’s night on the mat with just a second left. It was a knockout that showed how powerful Pacquiao is or should I say that it proved that Pacquiao also had the power to match Hatton’s.

“Our strategy was the one punch,” Pacquiao said. “Left hook. Right hook. That was going to be the key to this fight.”

After this fight it showed that you didn’t just need power, you needed to adapt and to have a strategy.

“I knew it was over,” said Freddie Roach, Pacquiao’s trainer (referring to the punch in the first round where a right hook put Hatton down with 54 seconds remaining) “Ricky fights the same way over and over. He doesn’t have the ability to adjust.”

Congratulations to Manny Pacquiao for beating Ricky Hatton! I’d love seeing Pacquiao win but it’s bittersweet since a part of me enjoys the fact that crime rate is down in Manila and everyone enjoys watching but as each game passes, it means that he’s closer to running in politics. I really hope not as maybe he can just choose another avenue to help the Philippines be more united like let’s say more boxing schools, schools in general and more.

His charisma is just great and I just wish he chooses the right path.
