Most games of the Nintendo Wii have been family friendly and quite healthy. In fact I can’t even recall any game in Wii, before Manhunt 2, where there was a lot of violence. With Manhunt 2 just being released and the effects of the game alarming parents, I wonder if Nintendo is trying to change their image. If yes, then they should really push through with this Wiispray.

Wiispray is Wiimote turned spray paint can and it was designed by Martin Lihs at Bauhaus-University in Weimar, Germany. This is a game for spray paint artists, vandals and those who want to learn the “art” to show their skills in a virtual set.

This is still a conceptual gadget but this Wiispray I bet would create more buzz for Nintendo if they decide to do it. I’m pretty much excited about this. Why? Just watch this Wiispray video.

A few days ago, I read in Yahoo that there is an internet worm/ virus called Conficker (or sometimes called Conflicker). This virus has been on going for the past four months and it will affect more than 10 millions computers on April 1 and who knows what it can really do to your computer.

According to the <a href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/article2344144.ece"target="_blank">Sun:

The truth is that the best techie brains in the business just don’t know exactly what the hackers have in mind.

So what do you do to avoid being hijacked by this April 1 Conficker virus:

1. Run a good security anti-virus software. (I’m using the free AVG and I don’t think it’s that strong against this virus)
2. Don’t use autorun found on USB sticks and devices.
3. Don’t run or update anything from Windows for the next couple of days.
4. Change your date on your computer. (I know it’s April 1 and it’s April Fool’s Day but a technician friend of mine suggested me doing this to somehow fool the virus of thinking it’s not April 1..just try it)

I hope this virus won’t affect too many computers, and if possible none at all. We really don’t know much right now and it may even be an April Fool’s joke. Gotta run..it’s April 1.

Through the years, there weren’t anything “positive” about video games as everyone was saying that it was a cause of distraction, a reason why there was such high violence among teenagers and why kids were were having problems with their eyes and having other health issues.

Ironically, in a recent study by researchers at the University of Rochester, it was found that most specifically action-orientated games, improved contrast sensitivity function (CSF). CSF is the ability to detect small increments in shades of gray on a uniform background.

To prove the research, they conducted an intensive training study (50 h over 9 weeks) on a small sample of 13 individuals split into two groups. The first group played either experimental, action video games (Call of Duty 2 by Infinity Ward and Unreal Tournament 2004 by Atari) and the other group played a control, non–action video game (The Sims 2 by Electronic Arts), which is a slower pace and not requiring precise, visually guided aiming actions.

So what are the findings?

Those in the action group showed a 43 percent improvement in CSF compared to those in the non-action group, whose average was 11 percent. Playing action video games resulted in an enhanced CSF and a shorter integration time for contrast sensitivity. This is of practical importance when driving at night or under degraded conditions, as well as during activities such as reading

What are you waiting for? Go ahead and play those games. Killzone anyone? (Still wishing for my PS3)
