I’m loving this Sting Energy drink commercial! First of all, it’s such a funny commercial. It’s one of those ads that when you’re tempted to flip the channel, you stop because you are curious what the ad might offer. Electricity to charge a car?? Wahaha I love it!

Second, I am such a big fan of MC Hammer and this guy can actually bring it! I was really impressed and his facial impressions really matched the moves. Great job to the people behind this Sting commercial.

Thinking about it, I just realized that this really has a double meaning. Not only can it start you and give you energy but also it gives out a meaning of “turning on” the opposite sex (just in case women drink this). It’s possible right? Well, if R. Kelly used it in his song “Ignition” then it really is possible.

Star Trek babies and a little Ben Stiller

It’s Star Trek week as we all know as the 11th movie just opened last weekend to a record sale of $76,500,000. We saw old fans, soon-to-be fans, just-became fans and fans who are fans but are just denying it. I’m in the middle as I just enjoyed the movie. But where are my other just-became fans of Star Trek? I don’t know where they are but it looks like the soon-to-be Star Trek fans are featured in these videos:

Filipino-Australian Jal Joshua is a Runner Up in Australia’s Got Talent

Jal Joshua Lebumfacil, a 12-year old Filipino-Australian, placed second to Mark Vincent in the recently concluded 2009 Australia’s Got Talent. The performance was done last April 15 but the winner was just announced yesterday, a week after.

“You’re really awesome. I hate opera but you’re really good.” This is what Jal told to Mark right after the announcement of the winner.

We’ve all been hearing about singing sensation Charice Pempengco as she has been getting popular not only in the Philippines but also in the United States but it’s also good to take a look around the world as there are a lot of talents coming from the Philippines. Jal Joshua is one and I’m sure there are more out there that are waiting to be discovered.

Cassie, is that you?

In 2008, Fil-American Cassie (Cassandra Ventura), made her debut on the big screen in a movie called Step Up 2 the Streets (sequel to Step Up). She played the role of Sophie Donovan and even recorded a song called, “Is it you?”

In 2009, it looks like she has done not only a remix to the title but also to her hairdo called “Cassie, is it really you?”

Yes, it’s her. And this is what she had to say.

Sometimes in life, you need a change. Something deeper than what you thought you were capable of. Something that displays the “I don’t give a fuck” attitude that was always present, but never showcased. Something that makes you look at this whole wide world a differently… & something that will shock your mother, but make her call you a ROCK STAR…

I’m not really into this new look by Cassie, I’d rather have her whole head shaved ala Queen Amidala but that’s just my opinion. What’s yours?

Susan Boyle wows the judges and the crowd

Who is this Susan Boyle? She’s 47 years old, she’s unemployed and she has the passion for singing but wasn’t given a chance to show the whole world. Well, things haven’t been going well for her, I should say – not until she entered Britain’s Got Talent. Thanks to this show, she was able let not only Britain but the whole world know that she does have talent.

She sang “I dreamed a dream” from Les Miserables and did she wow the crowd and everyone who saw her video.

Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton have been training hard the past few weeks in preparation for their fight on May 2, 2009 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. They’re both great fighters and they’re “legends” in the boxing ring. But what separates both fighters? Well, Manny has a secret weapon against Hatton (this just rhymes huh?). What is it?

It’s VitWater, you know? (the RFM drink that was inspired by the popular Vitaminwater in the US). It’s what keeps Manny strong and healthy.

Wiispray: Nintendo needs to make this vandalism game

Most games of the Nintendo Wii have been family friendly and quite healthy. In fact I can’t even recall any game in Wii, before Manhunt 2, where there was a lot of violence. With Manhunt 2 just being released and the effects of the game alarming parents, I wonder if Nintendo is trying to change their image. If yes, then they should really push through with this Wiispray.

Wiispray is Wiimote turned spray paint can and it was designed by Martin Lihs at Bauhaus-University in Weimar, Germany. This is a game for spray paint artists, vandals and those who want to learn the “art” to show their skills in a virtual set.

This is still a conceptual gadget but this Wiispray I bet would create more buzz for Nintendo if they decide to do it. I’m pretty much excited about this. Why? Just watch this Wiispray video.

Whoops! Kaitlin swallowed her engagement ring

For every man, one of the best parts of his life is proposing to his girlfriend – that is, if the girl says yes. What if the girl says no? or what if something goes wrong with your proposal? That is what happened to Reed Harris of Farmington, New Mexico, when his then girlfriend Kaitlin Whipple swallowed the engagement ring when he put it in her thick milkshake.

The engagement ring was seen in an X-ray and was removed two days after the proposal. “It arrived this morning and I have never been so excited about my bodily functions. Haha. It’s so beautiful and I love it. It was definitely well worth the wait.” Kaitlin said in her blog.

Kaitlin finally got her engagement ring and said yes. This was one of the rare proposal moments where one thing starts out bad or funny and turns out to be sweet and nice.
